When ever I travel to mountain I try to capture stars as much as possible , even though X200Pro and other X Series comes with a dedicated mode for capturing the star , star trail , starlapse seperatelly , I choose the old fashioned pro mode always 

Here are my reasons 

Intervel Shooting - Pro mode 

along with the Pro options , there is one option for us to set the camera on continues shot mode and click as many images as possible.

my settings are  6sec  /800iso /23mm | and i have given 4 sec deleay between the images and took around 900 images ( Set to infinity on counts )

Star Trail 

In the normal star trail mode the images looks like 

Peronslly I love the comet efffect on the star trail , whis is more beautiful

We can achive the comet effect using the app called Star Trail

in order to enable the comet mode , you need to either purchase pro version or watch a 60 second ad ( i would prefer this ) 

Star-Lapse video 

I use the app called Timelab for making the starlapse video , in this app you need the pro version to add images more than 150. and with the pro version you can enable the light painting effect to make the video more dramatic
