India’s First Indigenous Semiconductor Chip to Launch Soon

In a major milestone for India's tech industry, the country is set to unveil its first Made-in-India semiconductor chip. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that five semiconductor units are currently under construction, marking a significant step toward self-reliance in chip manufacturing.

A Boost to India's Electronics Industry

With ₹11 lakh crore invested in infrastructure and key government reforms, India’s electronics manufacturing sector is witnessing rapid growth. The development of domestic semiconductor capabilities is expected to reduce reliance on imports and position India as a global player in chip production.

A Vision for Long-Term Growth

Vaishnaw emphasized that legal reforms, inclusive policies, and strong investment strategies will help India maintain a 6-8% economic growth rate. The semiconductor initiative is expected to fuel innovation, boost job creation, and strengthen India’s digital economy.
