Google has officially confirmed that sideloading apps will continue to be supported on Android — but with stronger security rules:
👉 Sideloaded apps must now be developer-signed, otherwise they won’t install on Android-certified devices.
👉 If a verified developer distributes harmful software, Google will be able to remotely disable those apps.
✅ This means Android users still keep the freedom of sideloading, while enjoying an extra layer of security protection.
Do you think these new rules strike the right balance between freedom and security for Android users?
