As the year winds down and airports hit their annual December peak, global travel statistics provider OAG’s latest Busiest Flight Routes in the World report offers a clear picture of where travellers have been flying the most this month. The aviation data platform has released its monthly for December 2025, mapping the domestic and international routes that have carried the highest volume of scheduled seats this month. At the top of the domestic list is Jeju–Seoul, a corridor that has long dominated global traffic, followed by Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City and Sapporo–Tokyo Haneda.

And there’s a notable India milestone in the mix. Mumbai–Delhi has emerged as the sixth-busiest domestic airline route in the world, underscoring just how heavily this corridor is relied on, whether for business travel, festive-season movement, or the sheer connectivity between the two metros.

OAG calculates these rankings by analysing scheduled seat capacity for the current month, counting flights in both directions and compiling the data in the first week of each cycle. The result is a month-by-month reading of the world’s most travelled air bridges.
