Hi Vivo Community & Dev Team,
I am writing this detailed feedback after extensive testing of the latest OriginOS 6 beta build on the X200 FE. While this device is a hardware beast (Dimensity 9300+, Sony IMX921, 6500 mAh battery), the current software is severely underutilizing its potential.
Below is a consolidated report of Critical Bugs, Missing "Pro" Features that the hardware supports, and a feature request.
🚨PART 1: CRITICAL BUG REPORT
These issues are degrading the daily flagship experience and need priority fixes in the stable update.
1. Telephoto Image Quality ("Oil Painting" Effect)
- The Issue: Photos taken at 3x (85 mm) and 10x hybrid zoom suffer from aggressive noise reduction. Skin textures, foliage, and fabric details are smoothed out to the point where they look like wax or oil paintings rather than photographs.
- Fix Needed: Please dial back the noise reduction in the ISP tuning. We need natural texture retention, similar to the processing on the X200 Pro.
2. OIS Preview Failure
- The Issue: When recording video, the viewfinder preview is jittery and shaky, even though the final recorded video is stable.
- Impact: This creates a disconnect for the user. It is impossible to frame smooth cinematic shots when the preview looks like the OIS is broken.
3. Refresh Rate Locking (LTPO Bug)
- The Issue: Despite setting the screen refresh rate to "high" (120 Hz), major apps like WhatsApp, YouTube, and Instagram frequently lock to 60 Hz or 90 Hz.
- Impact: This makes the scrolling experience feel laggy and defeats the purpose of the premium LTPO display.
4. Battery Drain & Kernel Optimization
- The Issue: The 6,500 mAh battery is underperforming. There is a rapid, nonlinear drop from 100% to 95% within minutes of unplugging.
- Observation: High idle drain suggests the kernel governor is not letting the Dimensity 9300+ "sleep" effectively. It drains faster than competitor phones with smaller 5,000 mAh batteries (e.g., Moto Edge 70).
🔓 PART 2: UNLOCK MISSING HARDWARE FEATURES
The Dimensity 9300+ and IMX921 sensor fully support these features, but they are currently software-locked on the FE.
- Enable 4K 120 fps. Video: The sensor supports high-frame-rate recording. Please unlock this in Pro Mode for content creators.
- Front Camera EIS at 4K 60 fps: Selfie videos at 4K60 are shaky. Please enable Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for this resolution
- Telephoto RAW Support: Enthusiasts need RAW/SuperRAW output for the 3x telephoto lens in Pro Mode to bypass the aggressive JPG processing mentioned above.
- Telephoto Macro Optimization: The current "Macro Mode" via the telephoto lens produces muddy results. Please update the focus algorithm to allow sharper close-ups, utilizing the full resolution of the sensor.
✨ PART 3: FEATURE REQUEST (Port from X300 Series)
Since the X200 FE and X300 both run on the OriginOS 6 architecture, we request these specific camera features be ported to the FE:
1. "Landscape & Night" Unified Mode
- Request: As seen on the X300, please merge the separate 'Night' and 'Landscape' modes into a single intelligent mode.
- Why: The X300 implementation allows for seamless transitions between long-exposure night shots and creative landscape photography without manually switching modes. This is a massive usability improvement.
2. Creative & Landscape AI Modes
- Request: Add the Creative AI and Landscape AI processing toggles.
- Why: The current "Vivid" mode on the X200 FE often oversaturates colors. The X300's AI modes offer superior dynamic range and sophisticated color grading that would make the X200 FE a true "Compact Camera Flagship."
Summary: The Vivo X200 FE has the potential to be the best compact phone of the year, but these software limitations are holding it back. We urge the development team to acknowledge these logs and implement fixes in the upcoming OTA.
