Sunita Williams, one of NASA’s top astronauts, has retired after working at the agency for 27 years.
During her career, she spent 608 days in space across three missions and completed nine spacewalks, more than any other woman.
Her last mission was supposed to be short, but problems with the spacecraft kept her on the International Space Station for about nine months. She returned to Earth in March 2025.
